Fred's Boat Sales and Service started on June 14,1998 with the idea of providing a mobile boat repair on Lake Gaston and the Roanoke Rapids Lake. At that time, I purchased a 20’ boat and customized it to carry tools and parts to work on boats without the need for a shop. As things progressed I found that I needed a full-time shop for some repairs. This led me to hiring three full-time mechanics and into sales of new boats and motors.
This all started in 1979 working on boats and motors in Littleton and progressing on though the years from mechanic to service manager to owner of my own business in 1998. I have attended most major marine schools and have been certified in Mercury Outboards, Mercrusier Sterndrives, Force, Johnson/Evinrude, OMC, Honda Outboards, Tohatsu/Nissan, as well as ASE certified. I am a charter member of Amtec, Association of Marine Technicions, National Marine Expo’s and Mercury University.
Our staff includes three full-time factory trained mechanics as well as a part-time mechanic. We offer new and used boats for sale as well as having a well stocked boating accessory store. If we don’t have it in stock we can usually have it here in one to two business days.
